In this course, therapists will explore the structure and terminology related to the movement of the anterior upper body. Therapists will palpate bones as well as identify and locate specific bony landmarks of the upper body. Joint function and structure will also be addressed, both active and passive ranges of motion will be practiced. Therapists will learn the muscles of the anterior upper body, including their actions and attachments. There will be extensive hands-on work done in this course to give therapists a utilitarian understanding of the musculoskeletal systems and how the systems work together to create movement. This will provide a solid anatomical understanding for Neuromuscular, Myofascial techniques and assessments developed in therapists’ massage practice.
