A cadaver lab is a laboratory that uses preserved cadavers (donated human remains) for hands-on training. The University of Arizona has a Willed Body Program where donors will their bodies to the University medical students to study gross anatomy.
For students or practitioners of massage therapy, this means we have an opportunity to benefit from the gift that the donors have given.
The Cadaver Lab provides students with the unique opportunity to learn about the structures of the human body and how they function through touch and discovery. Every person’s body is unique, and the subtle differences in the structures found in each person’s body can only be observed in real people.
